About Dr. Schlierf

Dr. Jacob Schlierf is a licensed psychologist in the states of Florida and Minnesota. He lives in Orlando with his wife and three daughters. He earned his B.S. in Psychology from The University of Florida (Go Gators!). He went on to earn his M.S. in Exercise and Sport Sciences, specializing in Sport Psychology, from Ithaca College in upstate New York. He earned his doctorate in psychology (Psy.D.) from Springfield College in Massachusetts. Dr. Schlierf worked in Community Mental Health centers, University Counseling Centers, Behavioral Health programs, and Partial Hospitalization programs before opening Grey Havens Psychological Services in 2022.

 

Dr. Schlierf is a member of the International OCD Foundation and specializes in the evidence-based treatment of Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD) using Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP). Treatment of OCD comprises about 80% of his practice. Dr. Schlierf has completed BTTI training, which is the gold-standard training for OCD treatment from the International OCD Foundation. In addition, Dr. Schlierf has conducted trainings on the assessment and treatment of OCD for multiple University Counseling Centers. Dr. Schlierf has also provided consultation services on the assessment and treatment of OCD for hospitals, University Counseling Centers, and Community Mental Health centers. Dr. Schlierf also specializes in the evidence-based treatment of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder. Dr. Schlierf has completed training on the use of Cognitive Processing Therapy for PTSD, which is one of the three evidence-based treatments available for PTSD. Dr. Schlierf currently lives in, and provides in-person services to, the East Orlando, FL area. He also provides tele-health services in the states of Florida and Minnesota.

Quick Fun Facts about Dr. Schlierf:

I have a growing family, with my wife, and three daughters (a five year-old, two year-old, and newborn!)

My hobbies include surfing, golfing, racquetball, hiking the Appalachian Trail, and reading a good book (especially J.R.R. Tolkien).

I once helped to launch the Space Shuttle when I was 10 years old
