Maya is a licensed clinical social worker based in Orlando, Florida, where she completed the Master of Social Work program at the University of Central Florida (Go knights, charge on!) in 2023. Before joining Grey Havens, Maya has worked in both private practice and university counseling settings and brings the unique perspective of previous roles in nonprofit case management that are aligned with the central values of the social work profession.

Maya utilizes an integrated approach that draws upon specialized training in evidence-based approaches, including Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) for trauma healing and Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) for OCD. Maya also utilizes strategies from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), somatic therapy, and parts work to address anxiety, self-esteem, and challenges related to codependency and people-pleasing.

Maya currently provides in-person therapy in East Orlando, FL and virtual therapy services in the state of Florida.

Fun facts about Maya:

1. Florida is the sixth state I've lived in (after CO, CA, IL, NM, and CT). I moved here for graduate school in 2020, but New England will always have my heart.

2. I'm a fan of fandom- music, movies (especially horror), musicals, fantasy novels, collectible knick-knacks; the list goes on and on.

3. I'm a proud cat mom, but I love animals of all shapes and sizes (in fact, before I knew I wanted to be a psychotherapist, my dream job was "horse").
